Door Slam?
Anyone notice how loud the door slams when shutting the door? Maybe its just me, but my brother has an audi, and when i shut his car door, its nice, quiet, firm. But the stang, when i shut the door, is loud and clunky. Anyone experience the same thing? Is there a way to dampen the sound?
No mine is pretty solid over all too, but its just... loud. Everyone in my family drives a German car (go figure, I used to own a 93' VW Corrado SLC) and i guess just compared to those it just seems loud. If anyone has ever shut an Audi door, you would know exactly what im talking about.. Just seems very smooth. I dont know, maybe im just tripping.
Well, yes, Compared to the Audi (or in my Case my Former BMW or my Dads BMW) the door sounds a lot when you close it!
But for two reasons 1. The German Car manufacturers put tons of money,, time and engeneers (spelling?) on just such a thing, what sound the door makes when it closes. Thats why you pay a lot of more money for the BMW or Audi.
2. The German car propably isn´t a cab or coupé, wich means that it has the fram around the window, wich the Mustang doesnät have, wich makes the door more "flexible" = makes mor sounds!

Mine sound just right when I don't "Slam" the door... The don't take much effort to close, but are a heavy door, and if you push to hard, you get the big bang when it shuts... I keep having to remind the kids to not slam the door.
I have to remind myself too...

Try adjusting the Latch on the frame where the door catches. After the doors have been used a bit, the placement of these can sometimes be alittle off forcing the door to have to move as it contacts the latch thus creating the clunk.
