Yes, the Audi is probably airtight, so the doors won't slam!
The good thing is that while you could probably punch though its door, don't try that with a Mustang!

Personally, I think it's because of the auto drop windows. The windows are not "sealed" when shutting the door, and therefore it sounds horrid.

Mike
That's gotta be it. When my windows are rolled down and I shut the door, it sounds like a solid door. Otherwise it's just, loud.

Yea you think these are bad.....My Camaros sounded like slamming the lid on a big dumpster, they were sooooo loud and the doors were so long it was ridiculous. Real shotty engineering.

Ours might be a little loud but at least you can hear the difference when you shut them all the way or dont shut it hard enough.

Correct door alignment, spray grease and some undercoating inside the door does wonders. Remove the inside door cover and get inside your doors - alot of things are loose, need grease or need some zip ties. Pay particular attention to the window tracks, gears and lock linkages.

I've found that those "great" German cars (typically made in central America) use softer door moldings that give a "softer" slam, and do tar the inside to quiet them down.

Have you ever seen an Audi that was hit on the side? I doubt you could punch through the door.

The best sounding door I've ever had was on an old 86 Porsche 944 Turbo. The doors made this awesomely satisfying CHUU-CHUNK sound when you close them.

Cool, good input guys, And NO, you cant punch through an audi door, especially the coupe (safety bars). My brother had an S-Line TT, perferct door sound, and his S4 is the same. But yeah, I guess you get what you pay for.
