uh well i've always heard you guys calling the shaker 500 the skipper 500, well... i just have the base model system but lately ive been experience alot of skipping whilst listening to music, it really pisses me off... does this happen to anyone else?

oh well in the end i'd rather hear my engine then my music, it only happens on CDs though... not like AM/FM radio stations

I'd be real concerned if you could make a radio station skip.

Mine is an 05 with the Shaker 500 and I've pretty much accepted that it doesnt play MP3s cuz of this insane every 2-3 second skip. Since i bought my car 1200 mi away from where I now live I never went through the hassle of finding a dealer to take it in to. I just burn regular CDs and they work fine.

When you say base model system do you mean the 500? That is not the base model system.

I can tell you I've never seen a GT around here with any less than a Shaker 500, nothing on the lots anyways.

Maybe a V6 but most dealers around here don't bother with any less.

I can have issues with a couple of burned CD's but mine by and large is fine. I have XM now though and use that a lot and I'm getting the new Ipod adapter from Peripheral so I suspect the number of CD's I listen to will drop significantly.
