Default Flowmaster exhaust

Hey all!
Quick question. I drive an '05 V6. I was looking at various mods and was wondering about the flowmaster exhaust for the V6

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...oducts_id=4057

Any V6ers out there have this mod? Is it worth while? Thoughts, opinions? Thanks in advance!

if you would like to lower your horsepower, go with the Slowmasters

Ive heard that the Flowmasters sound really good with an h-pipe, but the MRTs also sound really good. The MRT's gave screaming an estimated 10 rwhp gain!

I don't get the "Slowmasters" thing??? Somebody want to explain that?

As for the V6 and Flowmasters, I didn't really like the sound. When I was at the shop getting my Flowmasters put on, there were two V6 Stangs there getting exhaust work done. One went with Flowmaster, the other with Borla. The Borla exhaust sounded MUCH better. The mechanic told me he thought the same thing, and stated (I'm paraphrasing him, but I don't know of any proof of this reason) that the V6s don't flow enough air to make the Flowmasters sound good. In his experience, he thought the Borla's worked much better with the decreased amount of airflow of the V6 vs the V8.

So, has anyone else had experiences with the Borla exhaust then? Also, how is the install for these? Is it something that can be done at home, or is it best to take it into the shop? What all is involved. Sorry to sound like an amateur... but that is exactly what i am

NIce looking mustang dude. Mufflers are all about the same as far as performance goes but sound isn't. Try macs' if they make them for the v-6.

OK, well obviously this is a personal taste type question, but I still do not know which route to go, having never heard a modded exhaust on a V6. For those of you who either have modded their V6 exhaust, or heard the different exhaust, which one should i drop the cash on. So far i have heard borla, MRT, and Mac. Please guide me!

The only modded V6 exhaust I've heard was a Magnaflow. A little too mellow if you ask me.

He called them "slowmasters" because with dual exhaust on your V6 you will lose 1-3 hp.
