It's a sound modification thing so you have to decide if you want to spend money on that. It also of course provides a visual element as well.

He called them "slowmasters" because with dual exhaust on your V6 you will lose 1-3 hp.
Well we were just talking about an axleback here so I don't know if that's all that fair to say. And 1-3HP? Umm wow WTFC?

Yeah....with dual exhaust you do not gain any hp. Especially true dual exhaust...you lose hp. Any other smartass remarks?

I don't get the "Slowmasters" thing??? Somebody want to explain that?

As for the V6 and Flowmasters, I didn't really like the sound. When I was at the shop getting my Flowmasters put on, there were two V6 Stangs there getting exhaust work done. One went with Flowmaster, the other with Borla. The Borla exhaust sounded MUCH better. The mechanic told me he thought the same thing, and stated (I'm paraphrasing him, but I don't know of any proof of this reason) that the V6s don't flow enough air to make the Flowmasters sound good. In his experience, he thought the Borla's worked much better with the decreased amount of airflow of the V6 vs the V8.

A before and after Dyno of an '05 Mustang GT showed that the Flowmaster American Thunder caused the car too LOSE 4 rwhp after install, therefore, Slowmaster. Flowmasters are gimmicky.

I don't believe that to be the whole story about duals. Getting dual exhast on any V type engine is better than a single exhaust. You can definately lose HP if the duals are oversized or undersized, but that could happen with both single and dual, and it's not a problem that's inherent to duals.
