Shift knob question
Hi all,
I'm thinking about replacing the factory shift **** with one of these:
http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang2005_gr...ift_knob.shtml

Their site says it will fit the stock shifter properly, but what if I decide to put in a short-throw later on? Are there good short-throws out there that are designed to fit the factory ****? I probably won't buy just the **** if it means I'll have to buy another one later on.
Thanks all, I've learned so much in my short time here.

I did that with the Hurst T-handle. I got the universal and retapped one of the inserts to the 12 x 1.25 metric. Now that I put in a Hurst shifter, I have to tap one of the outher inserts to the 1/8 x 16 SAE threads on it (BTW, my old T-handle that I had on my 67 Mustang with a top loader fits perfect, but has a 4-speed pattern etched into it).
Do yourself a favor and buy a new shifter first. It sure is a lot nicer to drive.

Replaced my shift **** with the MGW a few weeks ago. It looks great, and even works better. Shifts are more comfortable - more positive. I have several of the MGW products, and they are all high quality, and well designed, except for the console insert, which covers up too much of the holes for the cupholders, making them too small for most cups.
