Default CARB long tubes

Does anyone make a 50 state CARB legal set of stainless steel long tubes for the 8?

I don't think so.

My Dynatech kit came with a label that said it was "Not Emissions Legal in California". Does that mean it's 49-state legal? Maybe, but I don't really know.

Practically speaking, even if it's not technically legal, I don't think anyone would give you any hassle over it, except maybe in CA. The kit has cats and it will pass a smog test with no trouble. It maintains the OBD-II function of the ECU so it won't throw any codes. There are no "illegal devices" like O2 simulators--ut uses all 4 factory oxygen sensors. So long as your exhaust wasn't obnoxiously loud, I don't think anyone who wanted to complain would have a leg to stand on. You can pass a tailpipe test, you've got cats, and the OBD-II function is maintained. There aren't any legitmate complaints left!

Although this is true and i agree that the car would pass the sniffer test they also do a visual check it will fail for that reason. It really is stupid. There are actually only 1 or 2 Smog Legal CAI kits as well. One of the biggest problmes is tech not knowing what is or is not legal and also if they get caught smogging a vehilce that has illegal products they can be fined 50k

The only smog legal headers for the S197 V8 I'm aware of are the JBA shorties: http://www.jbaheaders.com/05mustangnew.asp

Not the prettiest ones out there, but apparently they deliver the HP goods.
