I want a black rim however my choices are limited
Mustang tuning has the rim I want but it doesn't fit the 2005 Mustang GT (attachment2), however the other in question does (attachment1). Being that I have the stock tires will the 17x9 rim fit the stock tire? How much larger could I go if it does fit on the rim once I purchase new tires? These rims seem very reasonable in price. The rim I wanted is the second one which doesn't fit. The third attachment was the original rim I wanted but it cost like 300 dollars a piece and they aren't available on the east coast.

I don't know the answer to your tire fitment question, but I can tell you how to figure it out yourself.
1) go look at your current tire and get the model and size off of the sidewall.
2) go to the manufacturer's web site (Google may help you there) and then look up the specs for that tire. The maker's site will tell you the "approved rim widths". That will let you know if it will fit on a 17x9 or not. You can also use this information to browse around other tires and see what larger sizes will fit your car.
By the way, the wheel that you want IS available from Mustang Tuning in an 18" size. You might consider switching to 18".
Also, you can make those wheels LOOK a lot like the "third choice", by simply buying some tri-bar center caps and installing those on your wheels from Mustang Tuning.

I just purchased your 2nd choice rim in 18" from Mustang Tuning and put BFG KDW 275/40/18 all the way around. The rims are knock offs of the Ford FR500's. My car is not lowered. I was nervous that there would be problems with them fitting based on other things I have been told but I do not have any problems with rubbing what so ever. Good luck. I will try to post some pictures soon. It is raining and will be for a few days so it might take a while.

Don't wider tires make for worse traction in the rain???
Just wondering cause I thought i felt my Gt getting loose in the last rains we had.
I know lots of people are dealing with too much rain this week!

I would think more tire on the ground the better. Its the thread that would be in question. And yes its raining all over the east coast.
