Still having gas tank problems???
Hi Everybody,
Obviously I'm new here and I'm getting ready to square up a deal to purchase an 07 Mustang GT. I've ran into a couple guys that said that they have that gas tank problem that makes it take forever to fill up but their models were 05 & 06. Has Ford fixed this problem? If so then I'm signing the paperwork this week for sure!!!!
This site is pretty much the reason I'm sold on the Mustang GT... Everybody is so helpful and all the pics are awesome!!!
Thanks,
Markus

RE: Still having gas tank problems???
I have only had this problem once. It was the first time filling my tank. Someone on this bord suggested that I only put the nozzle about halfway in, since then no problems at all.

RE: Still having gas tank problems???
On my 06 it only filled 3/4 the way up the first time I got gas but I think it just was a fluke.
Since then, I havent had any problems whatsoever. It fills right to the top each time, never overflows or anything. I prefer the nozzles without the bellows on them, but either one fills the car just fine without any special procedures.
Actaully thats not true. I normally dont insert the nozzles with bellows into the car the entire way. I always just hold the nozzle in all cases as I have seen one pop out of a car once and lay a serious scratch down the quarter. And make a mess.
So maybe because I dont insert the bellowed nozzles all the way I dont have problems??
It was just that first time. I wouldent worry about it
