Loud pop when....

Loud pop when....
Yesterday I was going to the driving range (Golf) and I pull next to a moded 300Z,
Nice one at that. anyways we took off and when I hit second at the sametime I hit a slight dip in the road (transition from pavment to concrete bridge) I heard a
loud pop as if the suspension was bottoming out, This is not the first time I've heard that pop, Once at the dragstrip when I lauched really hard.
anyone else experanced this...?
BTW the 300 had a mad loud blow-off valve and I left'em by 2 cars...
