sct data logging
What exactly does the data logging with an SCT let you see and/or do? On the SCT website it I can only find directions on how to install the software and how to ise it.

My roommate took my laptop out of town or else I'd get you a real list, but off the top of my head you can log: throttle %, throttle volt, pedal %, speed, rpm, load, coolant temp, oil temp, intake temp, trans temp. There are 8 O2 outputs which I cannot figure out 'cos they don't make sense, ie. Front Bank 1 is not necessarily one of the pre-cat O2s. One or two of them actually gave the normal voltage swing but I can't remember which, the others were flat. There's a monitor for the charge motion butterflies, but it was flatlined when I logged it. Could be locked in the open state by the tune setup. There's 30+ other variables to log, but I can't remember them. I've only datalogged for 0-60 runs so I haven't dug to deeply into it.

I wanna say the tuner has a built in log ability that you can download afterward for viewing, but again, I skipped the on-device logging since I would not need it. I assume that's what you mean by loading it after. Or are you referring to the loading of the software? If so..
I had the tuner and laptop linked together and running while driving. You have to have the tuner plugged in before starting, just as always, but then you can boot and link the laptop whenever. It's best to start the software last and just before logging 'cos it loads the processor at ~40% without logging, once logging starts it's pegged at 100% cpu utilization which means battery life is drastically reduced.

There is a HUGE amount of information you can keep track of. From what I have experienced, you just cant monitor everything at once. You must be selective on what parameters you want to monitor.....and sometimes that doesnt work either.
In my personal opinion; with todays technology, the whole data link program just plan sucks. Its a pain in the azz to use and to configure as well.
Also, there isnt any detailed instructions on how to use the program. You have to figure alot out on your own.[:-]
