Default Hurst shifter installed..WOW!

Just got done replacing the sorry factory shifter in my GT. WHAT a DIFFERENCE! I put the Hurst competition plus in. Much ,much shorter throw and notchier. What a great feel. It's taller and now my arm isn't riding the console or hitting a cup in the console. Only took an hour to change.Very easy and straight forward install.I HIGHLY recommend this upgrade.I just don't know why I waited so long. Legend GT

Did you have to do anything with driveshaft to get the old one out or the new one in. One of the guys I've talked to about it said they had to drop the driveshaft to get it to work.

Any other difficulties getting the old one out or new one installed. I'm thinking about getting the Hurst and installing it myself.

nice, although a black or silver **** would have been more fitting.

No, I didn't have to drop the driveshaft. Getting the new one in takes a little time manuevering around, but it went smooth. The old one comes right out. It comes with easy instructions. It just seems the whole driving experience changed with the short throw and notchy shift points. It should have been my first upgrade.Legend GT

I like whar you did to the center console, with the dash kit and the round *****. I did mine the same way.

That clinches it then. This is going to be my next upgrade. Thanks for the additional info.

I have had mine in for a few months now, and I have to say it is a great mod. I just wish it would fix the problems shifting into 3rd gear...

I think the White *** is the only way to go! I has a great nostalgic look and feel to it.
