Default GT exhaust questions

First time poster here... bought a 06 blk/blk GT convertible w/polished fanblades Saturday and love it!

I am contemplating switching out the mufflers for something a little deeper, but don't want it to be overdone. My question is, will switching just the h-pipe out for an x-pipe and leaving the stock mufflers in place, give the exhaust a deeper tone?

I love the sound of the older 99-04 GT's with the deep hollow sounding exhausts that the Mustang is known for and I'd like to reproduce that sound without getting too loud.

I just put Corsa axle backs on my GT... Love the sound and no drone. They are expensive though. At low speeds, it is a little louder than stock. Once you get on it, there is a deap, throaty rumble that sounds great. Had a few guys over last night. They all loved the sound too.

Just put on Mac and they have a real low throaty sound. About $330 delivered off Ebay.

I heard a sound clip with the SLP's in it but didn't care for it at all. That raspy tone is what I want to avoid at all costs. No problems spending the jack to get the sound I want, but definitely don't want a harsh sound like the clip of the SLP's.

Seems like I saw a thread on here or another Mustang site where people were complaining about MAC poor fitment and low quality...?

What about Corsa?

Go here: www.brenspeed.com

Here you have the opportunity to listen and chose from a variety of exhaust applications. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

If you want to make it deep I recommend Borla stingers(FRPP will be $100 cheaper for same exact thing), MACs, or maybe bassani. You can get a deep tone with an X-pipe just make sure its catted or it will be very raspy. Otherwise just stick with a catted H-pipe like you have stock. Judging by brenspeeds soundclip an off-road X-pipe and stock mufflers are very raspy[:'(]
