Default Wheel / slick sizes on 2005 gt

We want to bracket race our new mustang gt, previous 1989 fox was ok on 15 inch rims with hoosier slicks just for the track, however I'm guessing that we can't run a 15 inch wheel on the new gt what with discs on the rear etc. Anybody out there with a recomendation for a combo' ? If we can't run slicks then whats the best option as far as drag radials, we run std bullet 8 x 17's but would be prepared to get a pair of matching rims just to run at the drags.

I have looked into this as well and the only 15" rims that work are the welds and bogarts. The welds are cheaper but hard to find cause they don't make the 15" for us anymore. They also require a little fabbing to work. The bogarts are a bolt on (15x10) and only require the BMR swaybar relocation bracket to go on. You can run a 28" tall slick or DR and that's the limit. I don't know what just the bogart rears cost but JPC has the fronts (15x3 1/2) and rears (15x10) and bracket for about $1600.

I am running the Mickey Thompson ET Streets (model 3743). They are 26" tall and 11.5" wide and have a DOT stamp and include two treads (cheater slicks). I use them for track only and they fit fine on the stock 17' bullit rims. Recommended minimum rim size is 9" wide but lots of folks are running these tires on these rims. They do not bulge.
They also make a 17" x 26" drag radial (3743R) if that is what you are looking for. M&H has 17" drag radials too.

BTW, the MT ET Streets that GhostPony uses are recommended for 8.5-10.5 inch wheels on the Summit Racing site and go for only $180/tire, so that isn't too bad.

Anybody, have any idea about how many passes those bad boys will last??
