Default Shorty Antenna

Can someone give me a link on where to get this, and how difficult the install is?

I swear the search engine here doesn't work. I searched "shorty" and didn't find one note in the '05-06 Forum. what's up w/that?

Ok.. heres the instructions for a shorty antenna.. first you buy it.. then you take it out of the package.. then you unscrew the old antenna, then screw in the new one.

And yes the search engine isnt doing very well at the moment.

Yes, the Forum Search Engine seems to be broken.

here's a link to the shorty i got:

http://www.mustangtuning.com/14in-antenna.html

imo 14" is the perfect length for our cars, that length was recommended to me when i was looking. when you do the install just make sure you use a piece of rubber or thick cloth under the pliers or wrench so you don't scratch the antenna.

edit: the pic in my sig is the original antenna. fyi

Yeah the 14 in looks alot better than the stubby 8 inch one in my opinion. Counting the factory antenna I've been through 5 antennas trying to find the perfect one. I finally got TWO from autobarn.com that I like alot and I switch them out from time to time based on what look I want. Here's the link

http://www.autobarn.net/amistubbieant.html

They've got several styles and the quality is very good.

To install the shorty antenna, do you have to take off the black plastic shroud around the base of the stock antenna to unscrew it? because I tried with plyers and the stock antenna wouldnt budge...

no, just above that, where the antenna squares off, that's where you use the pliers. if you want to keep the factory antenna clean, use something between the pliers and the antenna.
