A power reset?
Ok - this is a bit of a strange problem and it's happened about 5 times since I bought the car in January. The car loses electrical power sometime after being shut off and parked and when you start it up again. The worst happened yesterday when the starter actually clicked (like it had a dead battery) - my wife turned it off and then back on and it started like nothing was wrong. The Shaker loses power, the trip computer resets and it has dinged a couple of times when you turn the key on - the ding being the same sound which it makes when the key is left in the ignition. I originally thought it was the Shaker which is being replaced this fall anyway - but it appears to be more than that since multiple things are going on. Anyone experienced this? I hate to take it in since it's so sporadic and I'm sure they wouldn't be able to reproduce the problem.
Well - thanks for a place to start. Sometimes it's always the easiest thing! The car was originally in the showroom and they had the battery disconnected. When they reconnected it they apparently didn't tighten the connector at all - I've cleaned it and tightened everything up and it's fine!
Have the dealership check it out.
There have been several S197 Mustang Owners having this problem.
There is a power control center (Smart Block) and that was the cause of their problems.
