I used to be stationed in Charleston. You weren't buying gas from a racetrack were you? Whenever I bought their high octane for my bike it would run like shiot! I've been out to summerville a few times, I used to give this chic a ride to work at a video poker place out there.

I live in Summerville, South Carolina. Next to Charleston, South Carolina. Yes I used to buy cheap gas however now I only buy Sunoco or Hess.

Racetrack gas isn't here anymore. Sunoco took over them and the gas is good. Today I talked to Brent and he is sending me the latest updated tunes for the three octanes by email and then I store my old ones on the computer and download the new ones into the tuner. I'm excited he said the tunes are stronger now than ever and that they have been tweeked and tweeked and are at the maximum level. So I can't wait to get them . I assume I will have to wait a couple days since he is a busy fellow. Also video poker now is outlawed here. At least you may still buy hard alcohol. I went to Townsend, Tennessee last week and the country is beautiful but the town was dry. You could buy beer and drink it at a restraunt but it was three beer limit. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSsshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt tttt.

93 octane + stock tune = 5-10whp more than stock (after running a full tank or two for the computer to adjust)
so are you saying that computer will adjust it itself without reflashing?????

and how about even higher octane numbers like 98 or even 100 (We have 100 available here at lots of gas stations..)??

thanks

YES the newer modular engines are equiped with DUEL knock sensors, the new mustang has fuel tables for 87-93 octane gass.

Acording to dyno sessions with Mustle Mustang & Fast Fords and 5.0 Mustang, simply switching to premium yeilds about 7-10 hp. Becouse the new highly efficient knock sensors compinsate for the higher knock index of premium fuel, thus raising ignition timing to take adavantage.

HIGHER THAN 93 will not improve performance without a tune. Becouse ford didnt program fuel tables for any thing above 93.

so racing gass sounds cool, but wont help.

although running premium will, so go out spend 15 cenmts more/gallon and gain 7-10hp

Airborne...Where are you stationed or did I miss that? I'm in Germany and I use EU 98 which equates to 93 US. Some gas stations don't have EU 98 but only EU 95 and EU 100 EU 100 is about the same as 93-94 US, so I just use that. I'm using a C&L w/ XCAL 2 from Brenspeed. I see you have a tuner, so if you are going to run a higher octane fuel, just have the company you got it from send you a new file for that tune. You'll probably need to purchase it...

scramblr,

Im "stationed" (i understand ur in the Service) just next to ya ...in the Czech Republic. So 98 EU equeals to 93 US? I was unsure of that. Thanks for clarification. So is my understanding right that if I use EU 98 I do not need to reflash and Stanf will do it automatically?

btw where in germany r u? we have big American car meeting on Saturday maybe you could stop by to join our participating mustang club (see www.americanday.cz) for details. It would be cool to welcome u here

Airborne,

Figured with your online name you were in the US Service. :-) Yes, 98 EU equal to 93 US. And yes, you do need to reflash to get the benefits for running a higher octane than what the car factory tune will give you. Many conversations about carbon build up if using a higher octane than what the tune calls for along with better performance (5-10 hp which you won't even feel). Bottom line is if you want better performance, you will need to tune the car for the octane you are running, otherwise you are just wasting your money, and in my opinion 5-10hp for running 93 octane with a stock tune is a waste of money, there's just no real reason to do it.

Maybe you can PM me the web site again...the link you sent me does not work. I'm in West Germany by Luxembourg.

well to above post, running premium for a free 10hp is not a joke. why not take advantage?

true with a tune you could probably gain as much as 15-25 more hp, but that cost alot more $$$
