so i had my mirrors painted and installed the 3d carbon side scoops. i have the black 'upgrade decal' to put in the scoop to make it look 'hollow' but i havent decided if i actually want to do that yet. what do you think? decal or no decal?

 

Kinda hard to tell from those pics, but I'd say black them out. It's too bad you couldn't have painted inside the scoop first.

 

Yeah, ahrd to tell just how they look, pictures are low quality.
But I think scoops should look like, well, scoops.
Which means they should look hollow, as you put it.
How deep is the recess?
Flat black paint might work, or you could go with the decals.
For my hood scoop, I went with the paint, and a fake mesh grill, looks great.

 

Yea, pretty hard to tell from the camera phone pics.
Personally, I say get some small hole expanded metal, cut yourself a couple of pieces using the decals as a template, paint the inside of the scoop black, and put the expanded metal in there. If not that route, then definitely install the decals.

 

yeah, the more i look at it the more i need some black to set off the scoop, otherwise it just blends in to the body.

without painting, anybody know where i can get a black insert for the scoop? ive checked out several sites and havent found anything yet so some help is needed.
