Default Mass Air Meters Removal

I went to Delk Performance today and they told me to remove my Mass Air Meters for 9 more HP to the wheel. This is cool, but before I do it, I would like to know if anyone else has done this. Any problems, leave it plugged in, what to cover the hole, etc...? Any INFO would be grate.

There has to be more to the story. You can't just remove the MAF. That would send the car into failsafe for sure. Are they saying replace it with a MAFIA unit? Do you mean shut of the o2 sensors? I'm confused!

LOL, me too. You know how Delk is, Busy busy around there. The only thing they told me was to REMOVE it for 9 more hp and the 93 tune will take care of the rest. This sounds fishy to me so that's why I ask first. Thanks for the reply Paul.

Can't help but think that someone is either using wrong termonology, or you misunderstood.

The Mas Air Meter is that device that inserts in to your intake tube that has wires coming out of it. The computer uses it to read the amount of air being consumed by the engine and adjusts fuel accordingly.

Perhaps they meant to remove the carbon trap from your intake tube that is in the tube where the MAF connects. But, you don't have to worry about that either. Your car doesn't have one.

If they were talking about the carbon trap from the intake tube, I can't believe that's worth 9 rwhp. From what I've read it's only good for about 4 HP at the crank. Definitely sounds like someone may have been smoking a little hash before work when they told you that.
