Default Trunk Release Problem

I swear I've seen this before on this forum, but excuse me that I can't find it now...

The trunk on my 06 has never popped up after unlocking with the remote. I never thought too much of it until I was hanging out with a friend who also has a 06 mustang and his trunk poped right up after pressing his remote.

Is this somthing I can fix myself? Do I need to bring it to the dealership?

Thanks!

My 05 did that. I took it to the dealer and the adjusted the latch and lubed it up a bit. Works perfectly since.

Maybe this is an '05 vs. '06 issue? Can I ask if anyone's '06 trunk pops up completely?

My 06 does not. Think about the weight of the trunk lid and it would also have to over come the
trunk lid supports (shocks). Your problem is normal.

My '06 pops. As mentioned, sounds like a simple adjustment/lubrication to the release mechanism.

My 06 trunk just pops, it dosen't lift up. Should I take it to the dealer? Could they fix this?

My 06 pops with the remote - I agree with spraying the latch. Also take a look near the latch and make sure a spring is there (on the trunk lid section) - which is apparently what they are using to 'pop' it up.
