Default Disabling traction control?

I don't like the fact that traction control is on every time I start the car. I want to turn it on when I want it on. Is there anyway to change this?

A tuner will let you disable it

Yeah, a tuner is a good bet cause reaching out and pushing a button is just too frigin' confusing.

True, its very simple to just push the button. I think its a very stupid idea to have it turned off with a tuner because then you'll have to do much more then just push a simple easy button that takes less then 3 seconds...

aaahh, c'mon, don't you know it's the American way to spend 3-400 bucks to avoid having to press a button?

You could wire up a relay that would actully allow the switch to work exactly opposite as it does now.
Meaning each time you start the car the TCS would be defeated and by pressing the TCS button once after any start would be turning TCS back on.
Had something like this on my dodge ram and the OD tranny switch. Now that I think about it the Mustang could use two of these type of relays. 05SDI

LOL! Yeah, I am just not going there. =)

I do have a question about traction control: I've heard at higher HP people generally permantly disable TC to avoid engine damage. Is there any vailidy to this? And if so, what is the HP range?

Thanks!

How does the actual traction control work anyways? Does it cut off fuel when it senses wheel spin or does it apply the brakes somehow?

It's not actually a HP thing, it's because with any type of forced induction, s/c, turbo or nitrous you are forcing extra air in the motor. When t/c kicks in it cuts fuel to the motor, at high RPM's and running lean when the fuel cuts out it can quickly blow a motor.
