Hood popped up while driving
Has anyone had their hood pop up while driving? Mine did it today when I hit a small bump. I guess it could have been inproperly latched but It's been at least a couple hundred miles since I had my hood open. I'm glad I was only going 25 or so. I imagine it would have tweeked my hood if I was going highway speeds. Just curious if others have experienced the same thing.

yes it happened to me also...i was going hard on the throttle and there was a hole in the middle of the pavement but it was too late when i saw it. i was doing like 60 mph. but the good thing is nothing happened to my hood.

i see mine shutter a little while driving at speed but then i adjusted the bump stops and now it seems to be ok, but im still afraid it might fly open so im thinking of getting hood pins

I think you're referring to the initial unlatching. The second latch or catch for full release has about a one in a hundred million chance of releasing even at 130mph over pot holes. When was the last time you saw or heard of a late model car with the hood blown open. If it happened it's likely because of some modification or mechanics error. ...understanding that the mechanic may be a do it yourselfer. Hood pins will keep it more snug but unless you're racing you don't need them.

Happy to say I haven't had that happen (knock on wood)
This kind of reminds of Tommy Boy, When he leaves the oil can in and than tries to shut the hood, than on the highway it pops open and they crash lol...whata great movie.
