Default wax remover?

alright I'm gettin ready to install my xenon 1/4 window scoops and I went to walmart looking for some wax remover....I want to make sure I do the install right so there won't be any issues with the tape peeling.....anyway, couldn't find wax remover, so I just bought some bug and tar remover. will this work or would they have wax remover at autozone or something like that?

Several manufacturers make pre-wax cleaner. I use Mothers. Even a 50/50 distilled white vinegar-water solution will work.

Autobody supply stores have it; maybe NAPA.

rubbing alcohol works? hmmmmm, when I bought the car my dealer offered the xyilon protectant(not sure if that's the right spelling) so i had that stuff put on so I'm thinking i will probably need some potent stuff.

Use Dawn (hand dishwashing liquid) to remove the wax. Zaino recommends using this on the car before applying their wax. They say it has a high alkaline content, which cuts right through the wax.
