hoods for sale?

RE: hoods for sale?
Well... here it is finally its finished state. The shop had a hell of time working out all the blemishes and getting it to fit right. There's still a few minor waves, and the frick'n fasteners popped out too after removing it for paint. It doesn't sit exactly flush (like OEM) near the cowl...1/8 rise....I guess I got the runt of the litter. Definitely not blue ribbon quality but to the untrained eye it looks decent. Just glad it's done and I can enjoy it!

RE: hoods for sale?
I bought the hood from Hoods4sale, also. I'm still working on it, now. I have about 12 hours in it and it doesn't even have paint, yet! The lip was inconsistent all the way around and the gelcoat was thin in spots on the underside and would punch through when you applied pressure. Also, the front edge of the hood is about a 1/2 off from the fender. I hate to think about the job I've got ahead of me trying to fit it. This hood does not come with the screen inserts for the scoops, either. I had to custom fabricate them myself. Sure, I saved about $350, but I guess I'm paying for it in the end. However, it WILL look awesome when it's finished. Good thing we have a body shop right here on site! If you're going to buy this hood, BEWARE unless you can do the work yourself.

Exactly the same issues I faced! I couldn't believe the air pockets in the gel coat. I poked my fingers right through it! Inexpensive hood, but lot's of effort to make it look good.
How did you get the cowl section to sit flush without cutting into the wiper motor boxes?
Having a body shop on site definitely helps. Watch those fastners......they pop easily. [:-]
I'm thinking about selling it now just b/c I had such a bad experience. I'm liking the Shaker Scoop sys from CDC.

RE: hoods for sale?
Thanks for the wonderful info everyone. I'm new to the site, but too am looking to change the hood. The California Dream Hood seems to be the way to go. It appears that RKSports requires the least amount of modification, though it may be a bit pricier. Anyway, once I figure out how to put some pics on here I'll show you all what I've got.
