Need new clutch

RE: Need new clutch
I read in a book once (Pererson's Big Book of Auto Repair from the 70's I think--yeah I'm old), that you can test a clutch by putting it in 4th gear and letting out the clutch slowly. If it smoothly loses RPM, then dies--that is good. If it bucks, the clutch is defective.
I'm not sure if this is a valid test, but it sounds reasonable.

Hmm... Since only one other person answered your question on what would be a good clutch, I'll recommend one. Check out the Centerforce LMC (Light Metal Clutch) and a 6-puck disk. That'll shave a BUNCH of weight off your driveline and make your acceleration nice and "peppy."[sm=devilgrin.gif] I got the dual friction unit and it made quite a difference. Made me wish I had waited just a while longer and gotten the LMC for even more pep. Caveat, going from the stock clutch to the new one is like putting the clutch of an 18-wheeler in there! But I like it that way. When I first had mine put in, it felt SUPER tight, but it's not as tight now. Don't know if that's a good thing or not. Did I get used to it or is something amiss?
