5k mile service

5k mile service
I am about to reach 5k miles on my car, so it is almost time to take it to ford for service. I was wondering about my intake and tune though. Will they clean out my aftermarket intake? Also, will they see that i retuned the ECU?
Thanks

Play it safe and set the tune back to stock and take off the aftermarket intake. If they ask about it tell them that you have the "Check Gas Cap" problem so you had to disconnect the battery in order to reboot the computer.

RE: 5k mile service
Tell you what. Find an independent garage with a good reputation, a place that you trust, to do the work and take it there. Why take it to the dealer? All it needs is a oil/filter change and a tire rotation, right? Unless the 5K service was free with your car, then I wouldn't even worry about it.
Either way, they aren't going to do anything to your intake and tune. They're just going to check a few fluids, change the oil, rotate the tires and you're out of there. Most places around here will do that work for $30 - $50, depending on how much you pay for the tire rotation. If they do anything else, then you're just paying for service that you don't need. It's a new car, after all!
I think this warranty issue has been covered before, unless the modification caused the part to fail, then you have nothing to worry about. It's listed in writing in your warranty book.
Besides, changing the air box on the car and tuning the engine for it is hardly radically. Ford racing sells a CAI and a 93 octane tune (the CAI looks identical to my Steeda...hmmm) and the dealer would probably install one of those if you asked. I know mine would.

I also have a 5k mile checkup coming here pretty soon and Im not taking my mods off.. honestly I rack up about 5k miles in 2 months.. Im not about to sit here and take off all my mods to take it in every 5k miles, sounds absurd to me lol...

RE: 5k mile service
My car is still at the shop for my suspension, so I'm going to have them go through the 15K mile service while it's there. The guy said they'd check fluids, change my oil filter, change my oil, and do a tire rotation. They'll be putting new rims and tires on there, so the tire rotation is already done, and the guy I spoke to remembers seeing my C&L so all they'll do is an oil change. No questions asked. Warranty was never mentioned.
