Search is your friend there are tons of posts on this. The most popular seems to be the Hurst.

Hurst seems to be the most common but I think that is because of price and they were the first with one. I did some research and decided on the Steeda Tri-Ax. I liked the extra piece of mind of the built in stops. If my car ever comes in I will put it on and give some feedback.

Just got the Pro5.0. Shifts like a dream, and has the stops as well. Bro and Dad both race Fox body stangs and say this is the easiest shifter they have ever used. Very heavy and solid, especially compared to the stock unit.

BTW, 13 passes between three drivers on Friday, approximately half power-shifts, and not one missed shift.

I know that this topic has been beat-to-death, but are there any threads out there where the different shifters are compared to one another? Seems that the Hurst gets a lot of press, but what about the Pro 5 or the Steeda? Possibly this is the topic of a magazine article?

Also from what I've read, the real problem with a stock shifter has to do with the fact that 1/2 of it is mounted to the transmission and the other 1/2 is mounted to the vehicle's body (figuratively speaking). Thus, under load flexing among the components causes difficult / missed shifts. One of the aftermarket products sold to prevent this movement is a transmission brace. Here is a link to one I have found.

Does anyone have any experience with a product like this, or has anyone installed one? Is this the answer, or part of it?

I'm just a new 07 GT owner trying to learn a little. I don't have many miles on my vehicle (read: 500) and the shifter seems comfortable. But it's obvious that the stock shifter wouldn't get it done if I really had to count on it. Thanks.
