Not sure if there are any pics of mine up yet but I used the Pro-Fit mount and the end result was pretty good. It sticks out a bit farther than I'd probably like but after a couple months I'm more than used to it and it looks good. What's best is that after if I change the trim covers the 3 small screwholes that hold it in place.

I love the armrest install and would do that if I could get a remote, I change channels too much to not have one that worked.

Got the IVA-W200 local (Houston) for $925 and the processor at crutchfield $499. The processor was not really necessary, but it really gives you control over the door and rear subs. It also has some serious active xovers, dolby digital, center channel, etc. Has a glass connection from the head unit to the processor. There are cheaper ways to get the subs tuned correctly, but the processor is the best way if money is not an issue.

Upped some shots of the pro-fit install. Not the best but gives you an idea.

Is your speedo the canadian version or is that aftermarket? I see 240 on it.

OK... new plan... I've scoped out this new deck from Pioneer Premiere. I know it kinda looks old school, but the display is pretty cool and it can handle an XM and Ipod adapter that allows me to control both directly through the deck. In fact, I think the old school look will compliment the dash well.

If any one else is interested, it's the DEH-P880PRS head unit, GEX-P920XM XM Adapter, and CD-IB100II Ipod Adapter. I got them on-line for $332, $64 and $43 respectively ($439). Better than the $821 total from the local audio shop.

I hope to install it all myself, if I can figure out how to get the entire dash off... anyone have an idea there?

6605stang, I just installed my headunit and it looks great! I have never installed any stereo equipment myself before until the other day. All you do is remove two screws in the middle console and pull off the whole center console then pull off the two plastic pieces beside the stock stereo closest to the driver/passenger legs. Then you just unplug everything and pull the rest out and put the new in after you wire you wiring harness to the headunit. Any questions just ask, here's the finished product.

Nothsa... thanks for the feedback. Is yours XM direct too? If so, how easy was that part of the install? Also, do you have the shaker 500 or 1000? If so, did you wire harness match up nice with the factory amps and such? SOrry for the onslaught of questions, I'm just very curious how this is all gonna pan out.

Thanks again,

+1....

Nothsa, nice looking install. Very clean. I also like the additional "cubby hole" space....

6605, the head unit you posted also looks great...You both have me thinking now.....

I went by Circuit City yesterday and picked up one of those 20 dollar cup holder mounts for the Roady XT. I love it. Great 20 dollar investment. Still very movable, but certainly a lot easier for channel surfing. Came out really clean. I need to get a photo...

I am not using the subs in my doors with the factory amps, they are now inactive. I didn't buy the XM Adapter or the IPod adapter yet. I was told that it's not worth using them, since i'm getting two 12's tomorrow along with an amp. I think that might be a little extra project if you wanted to hook them up though.

I am in fact in Canada. (In reference to the 240 speedo question)
