Locking Gas Cap
you probaly do better looking online, I went to many stores and no one had it, between pep boys, autozone and walmart/kmart. So i found it online and had it within 3 days of ordering.
I came across one for my '06 V6. I got it locally after hitting 3 auto parts stores on the same street (Houston is full of 'em), so I forgot the one I wound up getting it at. I just told them I needed one for '06 V6, but all they had was one for an '05 V6. I took it sort of "hoping" I was right in the assumption that there was no change in that area from '05 to '06. About two months so far and no warning lights or any particular issues. I do not know the brand, I just unwrapped it and slapped it on in the parking lot... tossing away the wrapper.
It does not seem to screw on very deeply though... but again, 2 months and no lights or issues. It does not have the tether, but I rather prefer to take it off and set it upside down between my rear windshield and the trunk than have it swinging around freely against the side of the car. It also requires the key for both locking it and unlocking it. I prefer the type that locks after three clicks without needing the key... but hey... I do feel better with a locked gas cap!

Ditto for me....zero problems with the Stant. Mine is the 11510 model though, not the 10510. I guess the 10510 comes in a box and the 11510 is "carded". Same thing from what I understand, so if you order one and it comes up recommending the 11510, it's okay. Works fine.
is there a secret to getting the tether off?

I just got it off, even though it looks like hard plastic, it does stretch a bit and enough to get it off.
