Default disable retained power accessory?

is there anyway to disable the retained power accessory option. When I take out the key I want everything to shut off.

I was just thinking about this today! It actually bothers me that my Radio/CD continues to play after I shut off the car. I WANT it to go off then, not when I open the door.

...Not trying to be a smart ***.. but why? How often do you take your key out and just sit in your car without opening a door? Maybe you exit through the trunk not the door? What is going on that this is a problem (just curious)

same here. It's cause I have an auto start w/alarm now and when i leave the car in ready mode the engine doesnt' shut off until i exit vehicle and close door. But the retained power accessory keeps the radio on for the 20 mins

for me I didn't mind when I had the factory deck, but now that I have amps I don't want to leave those powered on for 20 min while the accessory timer counts down.

As for me, it's not a big deal, it's just disconcerting to me, something that I'm not used to. Instead of enjoying the extra audio play, I'm thinking every time WTF.

BTW, that was an unintentional pun.

I always turn everything off before i shut the car off anyway so no big deal. Why not simply do the same.

+1 on that. I have thought of the same thing over and over, I hate that. I was born and raised in Detroit, not that I'm paranoid, but I know how the streets work and something you don't do is pronounce what your doing in your car at night.
