Shaker500 - 4subs?!
I thought so... but I want to make sure..?
A while back I posted asking if the Shaker 500 had 4 subs and not just the 2 in the doors. The reason I asked is the front doors produce alot of boom but since I never sit in the back I never noticed how loud the subs are back there. So I went on a quest to find out if there were actually 4 subs and not 2. Everyone told me that there were only the 2 in the doors and that in fact the 2 in the back deck were just regular mids and highs. I thought this was really wierd how the subs were so loud back here yet there were only the 2 subs in the front doors. Everyone said it was just because the acoustics were really good in the car and they echoed back there and whatever.
So yesterday when I was cleaning out my car, I pulled the back seat out and I saw them.. 2 black circular things...They are under the back seat, I think theyre subs... one under each seat. They point down into a formed sealed metal box of some type with power wires running out the back. Im not sure what they are really... so if someone could tell me what the hell those are that would be great...

Those two black circles under the rear seat are access panels for the fuel level sender and the fuel pump. There are only two subs with the Shaker 500. The only speakers in the rear are the two 5x7s in the rear deck, unless of course you have the Shaker 1000 with the subs in the trunk.
The reason the bass sounds so good in the back is because low frequencies travel very well and tend to be more immersive than high frequency sounds. This is why you only have a single sub in a normal home theater, the bass fills the room, it isn't significantly louder right in front of the sub.

At least you didnt waste money for the 1000, It's even worse than the 500 and plenty more problematic.
So why do they have to drop my tank to replace the fuel pump ?

Yea I've pretty much given up on trying to figure out the disaster they call an audio system in this dam car. Everytime figure something out and think I got it all dont pat. Something else is screwy with this thing.
BTW,....sorry for jacking your thread but I had to do it for old times sake lol...
