Default Ford Plenum Cover Install Help Needed!

I just received my Ford plenum cover. Based on previous threads, I also ordered the studs W710464-S437. I now read these are the wrong studs (they do appear far too long).

Questions:

1. My car was built in Feb/06...do I even need replacement studs?
2. If I need replacement studs, what is the right part number if W710464-S437 isn't it and do I require just the front two or all four?

Help please and thanks.

My car was built the week of 1/9/06 and it has the correct studs, so I would bet you don't need them.

The Nuts are W520411-S437 and the Studs are W712289-S437, you need 2 each only for the front.

So do the sides just have the grommet slide over the stud with no bolting and then the original plastic cap holding the wire harness pops back on?

I'm not quite sure of that I haven't got mine yet. But I do remember something posted that did sound like that, it supposed to be a connected to a wire holder or something.

Yes the grommets on the sides just it over the existing studs and then the plastic caps pop back on top.

Front bolts were slightly too large for the grommets so I opened them up one more size with a drill. Then just used those bolts tightening them enough to ensure that the throttle body was snug to the plenum.

Sound OK?

I put mine on today. Took all of 10 minutes or so. I replaced the two front studs with the new ones, pulled off the two wire harness retainers in the back, fed the intake over the front studs, aligned the rear mounts and seated them. And put the wire harness retainers back on.

The cover cannot sit any lower so it cant go under the fuel rail bolts in the back, so I am assuming it just sits on top of the studs.

If you have to drill or modify anything, you have the wrong hardware.

Do the wire harness retainers go on the new cover or underneath it.??. I am sure when I get mine it will be a no brainer.. lol
