so I could get one for 5k over msrp. Thing is it would be as an investment. Sound wise? I mean I could ebay it and probably make a killing or should I garage it for a few years? Any suggestions?

That Ford GT is going to stay sitting there. There are 500 Ford Gts (litterally) all over dealerships at MSRP. Also that Shelby should not go for 83K. I continue to ask everyone that if they have any proof they can post that a GT500 went for 100K please post it. They are going for 10K-15K average and 20K over max(which is a heck of alot) . it is a market adjustment. Z06s are still 10K over and they have beeen out for quite a while.

is it a pain in the a$$ ..yes... but it is capitalism.

honestly, for what MSRP is we all know that we can build a better, faster GT for less than any of the tuner cars. Im not all that impressed with the Shelby, Roush, or Saleen models. Nowdays you are paying for the name no matter what the price. I'd rather put a blower, bolt-ons, and good suspension under my GT and walk all over a Shelby.

they should make some sort of law that says a product can't be marked up more than a certian percent so people can't get away with it, ya know
if people were not willing to pay a markup the price would never be that high...basic supply demand principles...

Wow not being a SOB but the car isnt all that to tell you the truth; Basically the GT500 is a collectors item it barley beats the Roush Stage 3 in the 1/4 mile. And this is coming from a 17 year old waiting for his Black on Black Mustand R3 (roush stage 3). The first ever GT500 #1 went for over 600k in the Barrett Jackson; and by the way why would you want to over pay for a car that EVER dealership has! Might aswell clone the sucker and make the car to your preference; because basically thats what the GT500 it is with aftermarket parts from FORD. I saw a SHELBY for 73k and right beside it i saw an ELANOR cloned GT; which was beautiful going for 55k. You guys are just raving about a collectors item nothing big.

GETTING OVER A SWEET CAR
step 1: Look at the car and drool
step 2: take picture of the car and yourself next to the car
step 3: grab your ***** and walk away like a man

Crystler still does "this" with the Viper. They limit production on purpose, just to keep the supply way below demand, that way the car sells for more then MSRP.

I wish I had something to sell that EVERYBODY wanted! []

aside from the regulation post, i dont know if anybody was actually upset by the prices - maybe just in awe that 1) somebody would pay that much and 2) somebody would pay that much.

it is indeed true economics, and if i ever get around to obtaining my MBA, this would be a beautiful thesis study.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Still true after thousands of years.

You are better of taking the money and investing it and waiting 25 years... You wil be much better off... These cars are going to depreciate as fast as anything else in a couple years...

The Z06s are starting to sell for MSRP, when they came out they were 20k over... I say a GT500 sell for 42K over MSRP, the sad thing it really was not a wealthy person, it was some fool who took out his life savings to pay the premium and then financed the original balance at over 8%...

The world is full of cars that once sold for thousands over MSRP and now are selling for pennies on the dollar, some people will never learn...
