Default Stang in the winter question

I don't know where to post this so i will try here. This weekend i am moving into a condo apartment complex. and the driveway leading to my condo is fairly steep. and as soon as you reach the bottom of the driveway i must take an immediate right to avoid crashing into the rocks straight ahead. Needless to say this is my first rear wheel drive car, and winter is around the corner. I already have 4 50lb. bags of sand in the garage that will go in the trunk at first snow. my question is how to safetly get up and down this steep driveway without sliding into the rocks? Should i keep it in a lower gear or what? any advice is appreciated

for starters, good luck. I drove my stang in the snow a couple of time last year and got stuck in my driveway. Yeah not good. How i got out was take the traction control off and put it into first ( i do have and auto) and pushed it. As far as sliding down hills, i would say go very very slowly but going up a hill, i would take a running start.

That is a good idea but it's not an issue with the budget.

There is a button on the dash next to the hazard button. Press that to turn it off.

so by reading i couldnt tell is this was your personal drive to your condo or public, if its personal get some stuff called ice melt and keep it heavy on the drive that will keep most of the ice at least slushy. I put that on my driveway all winter i barely have to shovel it. good luck and take it slow slow slow.
