Cheap Gas?
I will be isntalling my CAI in the next week or so. I have read alot to not buy cheap gas. What constitutes cheap gas? Is Walmart cheap gas? Albertsons? I take it to mean only buy from places like Chevron Exxon ect. Is that the case?
K I did some looking and my choices are; Diamond Shamrock, Chevron, Shell, Race Track, Walmart, and Albertsons. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with any of those?

Both Shell and Chevron are good quality gas. I use NOTHING BUT Chevron here in Washington, and when I can't find a Chevron, I go to Shell or Texaco. If you're in Texas, I know for fact you have Texaco in your area because that's exclusively what I used when I drove to Dallas while I was living in OKC. If all you have in your neighborhood are those that you mentioned, though, I suggest you go to (1) Chevron, and then (2) Shell.
What contitutes "bad gas" (besides that which you get from eating Mexican food) can really depend on lots of factors. Do they use detergents in their gas? If not, don't use 'em. I'm sure most places do now so this might be something you don't need to consider anymore, but if a company does NOT have detergents in their gas, your injectors will foul up much sooner than gas from companies that do (like Chevron, Exxon, Amoco, etc). Also, and possibly more importantly.....do they get alot of business? If not, don't use 'em because they probabaly go a long time without having to have their underground tanks refilled with fresh gas. Gas stored for too long can get water in it, and that's never a good thing.
I hate to say feed your money to the biggest companies and help them get richer, but in essence, they're typically the ones who offer the cleanest burning gas and they often stay the cleanest because they attract the most consumers (the majority of who are attracted to name brands). In the case of our 'Stangs, I suggest you baby her and stick with the cheapest name brand you can find. Me personally, I have one favorite Chevron in my area -- cheaper than other Chevrons, and therefore lots of customers....which means fresher gas.

Believe it or not all gas comes from the same pipeline and they just put labels on them.

Either way, I'm going for whoever's selling it under $4.00 these days!
Not only is it cheap gas, but old gas. Try to use popular places in your area. Definately dont' use gas from the mom and pop store down the road that bairly gets enough business to stay afloat. I Use BP and Chevron personally.
