Do you use the Overdrive Kill Switch when riding in town?

I do when driving under 45 mph. I also use it when entering the interstate. Gives the car a little more umphh if you need it.

I find that when you overide the overdrive entering the interstate, if you punch it you won't have the lag as it downshifts. Once you turn the OD back on and it kicks in, you'll feel like you were sling shot.

All the swith does is lock up the converter to 1:1 ratio for better MPG. Don't remeber on the new trans but on my 02 GT Vert 3rd and 4th locked up withthe switch off.

SO in saying that, back in the day BEFORE lock up converters, the transmission would slip on the freeway and cause bad MPG. Your torque converter has clutch disc's inside...........

So I leave my switch off unless on freeway to keep the RPM'S up around town, much better for short trips and less wear and tear on the trans.
