And yet the ironic thing is the insurance premium elderly people pay is far less than teenagers - when elderly people cause far more accidents! Ahh, they need to have their own roads. 7 MPH speed limits in 1 lane with guard rails on both sides. Then they can peacefully die in their cars while taking 2 hours to drive 20 miles to the supermarket.

My folks just moved to a retirement community in Phoenix AZ and their insurance TRIPLED! They are in their 60's and have said it is crazy the amount of old people around their place crashing.

Man I feel for your pony! Don't fret too badly about the other side of the car maybe could have killed someone...I would imagine that if someone had been seated there (with side air bags) things would have be a bit different. You never know what difference just one small change makes in an accident.

So glad to hear you are OK. I hope you heal fast. I was rear-ended at 15mph and it tweaked my neck something fierce, my car only had $890 damage. Me 9 days off work and medical bills.

PS: I have noticed every since I started driving my 05 GT that is seems that people "just don't see me". After way too many near misses from oblivious drivers, I had to become extremely cognisant of where I am in the lane and be very defensive in my driving style. Figured bright sonic blue would be easier to see and the engine would be easier to hear, but noooooo...seems like these cars were built stealth-style to other drivers.....but way obvious to cops!

Glad you're ok man. I know some people say you should have let her hit you, but at the time you were doing your best to avoid getting in an accident. Its easy to look back and second guess. Good luck in finding a new stang.

Wow-what a sad sight. I'm glad you walked away from that. I assume your insurance will replace the car?
