Driving a stick isn't hard at all. My 07 is a stick and i have never driven one before and it took me about a week to learn it. Just keep practicing it will come to you eventually.

When the car shakes it is usually referred to as you being "bogged down". This is a great indication to downshift. Also, try www.standardshift.com The people are nice, and there are even videos to help you out. Good luck!

Read the instruction manual. It should tell you the correct points to upshift and down shift, along with the maximum speeds for each gear. Pay attention to your RPMs on the tachometer and take it easy on the clutch. Find a deserted wide street and practice your upshifting, downshifting and parallel parking.
If you have a friend who drives stick bring him or her along to tell you if you're releasing the clutch too fast or slow. I had lots of problems with my first Mustang way back in 1981 and could barely get to my friends house! But he showed me in one day how to give more gas as I let off the clutch and the rest is history!
