Default Just picked my car up today...

my dealer said "come in the afternoon and we'll have her washed, waxed, and ready." I got there at 3 pm and walked around the car to see how she looks waxed. I saw water spots, scratches in the paint on the hood and both bumpers. There is no way that they waxed it and they definitely didn't polish it. So I complained and showed the car to the manager who assured me it would be polished and waxed when I go in to get the stripes. Anyone else had this happen at the dealer? I'll tell you-I've picked up a number of new cars and I have NEVER seen a paint job in that shape, ever. The paint on the car I traded was in better shape than that. The body man told me he could take the scratches out. I hope he's right. So far, I don't have a good impression of my Ford dealer. I hope it gets better from here.

Yes... only 1) They did it before I took delivery, and 2) I took delivery late in the day so I couldn't see the "bonnet burn" from the rotary buffer. Don't take delivery until they hire a professional detailer to come in and do it - not the "dealer detailer" hacks. Insist they do this, or you'll rake them over the coals on the dealer survey.

Mine had a tiny little mark on the door handle. It didn't seem significant enough to mention. The rest of the paint looked great and they even removed some gay looking pin stripes ( I didn't even see them) 1 hour before I got it and didn't leave a mark.

I'll tell you what, I'm thinking of taking care of it myself. I don't think these guys have a clue. I had them put it in writing that they'd take care of it or I wouldn't take it off of the lot. They blamed kids walking by. So what. Make it right. I know I can wax it better than that, way better. I also told them that I know a lot of people and I can either give them more business or less business. So the ball's in their court. Otherwise, I LOVE IT!!![sm=happybounce.gif] Thanks for all of your input.
