Default Automatic overdrive button rattle

Hi; Maybe someone can help. I have an 06 Gt automatic. The overdrive button on the end of the shifter rattles and is driving me nuts. Any ideas on a fix besides the dealer????????? Thanks [:@]

How could that button rattle. Its like some sort of rubber and its an electronic button. Are you sure the rattle isnt coming from the trim ring around the shifter or the hand brake or even the chrome spring button used to switch gears.

Next time you hear that rattle... try first holding the button a few seconds to see if that stops the rattle... if it does.. then, yeah... it's the button.... not sure what to do about it.

But... if that doesn't prove it's the button, the next time you hear the rattle, try holding your fingers down into the front cup holder bottom for a few secons to see if that doesn't stop the rattle... and if so.... please let me know how you fixed that cuz sometimes mine rattles from there.... Not trying to be smart... but true experience and maybe your rattle is same as mine?

I have held the button when I hear the rattle and it stops. I can actually tap the button and make it rattle. I believe the button is seperated from a switch device that makes the overdrive work [ that is a guess of course] Thanks
