Took mine in a few weeks ago because the plastic pillar cover was hitting the windshield and rattling when I would go over bumps. They replaced it in about a half hour and I was on my way.
In the driver's seat it sounded like the rattle was coming from the center of the dash, but one of my friends figured out that it was the pillar on the passenger side.

But I still have that same rattle in the A-pillar, where it hits the dash on the left. I'm going to look for a rubber piece that I can shove in there. I had to spend $157 on the rental car while they tried to fix all the rattles and the leak in the brake master cylinder. In last Wed and picked it up today, Monday. It may be covered by the warranty but the rental isn't!
My 1999 Mustang GT is rattling pretty bad with my 2 10's in the trunk. The trunk itself seems to be rattling really bad. It feels as if the trunk is loose just a little bit. I can push down on the trunk and make it go down quite a ways. Is there anyway to tighten down the trunk more, maybe lower it some? The only other thing I can hear rattling pretty bad is the seatbelts in the backseat. I don't know what exactly is rattling on them but I'm sure that's where it's coming from. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Ok, after upgrading my stereo from the Skipper1000, my whole car seems to buzz and rattle. The worst offender seems to be the two window switches on the driver's side. If I simply lay my hand on the switches, the buzzing stops. The passenger side buzzes from the switch as well, but it's only one switch... so it's not as bad.
Somehow, the dashboard rattling is gone. I think they must've taken it off during the install and maybe fixed what was buzzing. I also have some rattling from the rear seat areas, too.
So I figured it would be a good idea to start a thread that listed all the places our car rattles/buzzes/shakes/etc and what people have done to fix it. If you have any inputs, reply to the thread and I'll edit this first post. I'll start:
- Window switches: Take out switch assembly and coat with clear silicone where housing meets the sides of the switch box (below armrest).
- Shift boot: Get an aftermarket shifter.
- Driver's door mirror: Need fix action
- Plastic trim behind the inside door handle pull: Take it off and add a thin dab of silicon to the back or stick on a piece of thin weatherstrip...re-install and its fine.
- Little plastic piece inside of the passenger door grab: Dynamat
- Plastic housing that goes over the latch on the trunk lid: Dynamat
- Somewhere behind center console at idle: Need fix action (I have this problem, too)
- Vents: Need fix action
We're getting there!!!

Good run down.
My 06 GT is rattling, or more like "squeeking" in the center and right hand side of the dash. Can push where the upgraded panels meet the top of the dash and it quits. Anyone know a good fix? Seems to be where the panels are rubbin against each other or the top of the dash..
Thanks
Rusty
P.S. Great thread. Seems that a lot of us have some kind of rattles. Also, checked out other forums on other cars and it seems that almost all cars experience some kind of rattles.

I just got my GT back and they fixed the rattle in the back. It sounded like a penny on a cookie sheet when I was on a rough road. They installed a new seat belt assembly.

No, they said it was the seat belt assy, which they fixed.
BTW, do you mean the rear side window? Well that comes on and off, but you have to take off the interior panels to do so. It could be loose. Best to note what road you are driving on when you hear the noises and then get a friend to drive while you get in the back to check it out. You might even want to use a camcorder to prove to the dealer that the sound exists! Then all he'd have to do is listen to the footage.

Does it seem like that rattle is come from the drivers side 1/4 window? I have a rattle that I can hear when I'm not listening to music somewhere behind me to the left...

My worst vibrations are on the right side of the dash, down where the A-Pillar and windshield all join together and in the drivers door. As a temporary fix one day my wife stuck my wallet that was in the cup holder up on top the dash down in the corner wedging it between the Windshiled and the Dash. It worked great, so now I stick it there all the time. lol how retaded... ( I hate driving while sitting on my wallet!) As far as the door vibration if i stick my elbow against the door just above the arm rest and give it a small amount of pressure that noise quits as well. I also have a small vibration in the passenger door, behind the radio or vents, and the same pillar dash joint on the drivers side. I am actually quite embarrased by these noises... I am because the car is so new, and I talk so highly about it, and I dont want others to hear it.
I have a popping noise that is coming from my trunk lid. When i make turns or go from one driving surface to another (road to parking lot) i hear the popping. I know its the trunk lid because i can stand behind the car and press downward on the passengers side rear corner of the trunk lid and duplicate the noise. I cant figure out any way to adjust the trunk to get rid of the noise and I DO NOT want to take the car into the dealership.Im way too **** about my car and they will undoubtably scratch it in some way trying to "fix" it. Anyone else have this? If so, anyone know a fix for it.
