Interior Buzz/Rattle Locations/Fixes
I'm not sure if this one has been addressed yet but I had the driver's side mirror rattle. It would buzz with bass from the in-door subwoofer and when I would close the door. I took it into the dealer. Make sure to take the service tech out to the car and shut the door a few times or play the radio so they don't give you that "uhh, sorry we couldn't reproduce the noise." response. Theysaid a loose screw wascausing the noise. They tightened it up when I got an oil changeand it's been quiet for10,000 or so miles now.
I just put aftermarket speakers in my car and they are amazing! Initially, I was skeptical about making the change from stock to aftermarket because there was a chance of the doors starting to rattle. When I did the install, I took extra care when I was working on the doors to make sure that nothing would rattle. Everything was working fine with no rattles. I park my car during the winter. I took it out for a drive last night to let it run for a bit and it rattled like crazy! I had rattles coming from the doors and everything! This is starting to worry me because in the summer it didn't rattle at all. The only thing I had noticed before the winter was a slight rattle/ buzzing noise coming from the drivers side door.If it's not my stereo producing the rattle, then it will defiantly be my exhaust!!I might have to check the seatbelt assembly on the drivers side because other people have said that it gives them problems. I am going to be adding a 12" sub in the trunk and I am wondering if I should add some sort of Dynamat to my doors and parts of the trunk. Has anyone done this and was it worth the money?
I'm getting some kind of weird interior buzzing around 4000+ RPM in any gear. The sound reminds me of a small barber shop electric trimmer. It's coming from the circled area as best as I can determine...

*this is not my actual interior*
Increased pressure or tapping on the area does not alleviate the problem.
Car gets driven thoroughly about once a week. Sits in my garage when not driven. I have never had any interior rattling that I couldnt ascertain the cause of and fix...

Glad this thread popped up. I have a squeak/rattle in the dash. It sounds like it's coming from somewhere between the center and righthand side as others have said in here. I hear it when I go over bumps and it's cold. I'll have to check the area where the pillar and dashboard plastic meet the windshield as others have mentioned.
great thread! lot's of good info and PLUS it makes me glad to see there are other whacko **** people like me!!! wife thought i was just nutz until i bought me a stethoscope on eBay for $10 to help me root out the noises in my cars... now she thinks I'm certifiably insane.
