I have a low-frequency buzzing/humming that appears to be coming from inside the right side of the dash. It's not always there, so I'm trying to determine if it is temperature related. So far, I've figured out that it only happens at higher speeds (above ~40 mph) with external air selected and the fan on. If I turn the fan off, it goes away. If I switch to recirc, it goes away.

I've never owned a car with such a poor quality interior. Too many rattles and creaks to list coming from the cheap hard plastic. I can't stand the fake plastic aluminum on the steering wheel as it also makes noises. It's driving me crazy. The rest of the car is great, but the interior is a joke.

My 2010 GT has a glove box rattle...but only occasionally. But the times it does rattle, it's quite annoying. I can stop it by putting slight pressure on the top left of the glove box door. I've had every intention of looking for a hinge/latch adjustment but haven't done it yet.

Has anybody else had this rattle?

FWIW I had a rattle at idle and low RPMs normally only in 1st gear, dealer claimed it was in the dash and put some foam in that was supposed to stop it. The rattle persisted for another 6 months until I was cleaning my CAI one day and noticed the head shield that comes with the JLT CAI had flat out shattered at the bottom where it is screwed to the engine bay. Replaced the shield and no more rattle! Go figure an "interior" rattle turned out to be caused by an aftermarket part.

My Ebrake handle rattles, seems to move around as sometimes I can get it to stop by resting my hand on it but not always the same way. Had forgot about it since the car is in winter storage, but it'll be out soon and it drives me crazy.. only really noticable at 65mph+ with the 4.10's humming.

Hi pscampbe,

My name is Deysha from Ford Customer Service. I recommend you bring this up to your Ford dealer and make an appointment for them to diagnose it. Then message me with your VIN, mileage, contact info and dealer so I can help.

Hi,
lay the gun on a soft piece of smooth cloth or a hand towel....

No No, better to adjust the snapper of the glove box door, so that the two rubber bumpers have more pressure. I fixed my rattling with bending the snapper. It should work by hand.

Greetings, Mario

i had a really annoying rattle that seemed to be coming from somewhere around the passenger door area. it seemed to just come and go randomly when driving. i had the hardest time trying to find out exactly what it was... finally pinpointed it, turned out to actually be the adjust bar underneath the passenger seat! havent taken the time to see what to do to fix it, but i was stoked to find out what it was lol

so if anyone else is having trouble pinpointing any rattling from the same general area, check the adjustment bar under the seat

I took advantage of my audio install-- ended up stripping the interior. Worked like a charm... i used foil insulation purchased from lowes on the doors. Backed it up with foil pipe wrap. HUGE difference at a fraction of what dynamat costs. It cut down on almost all of my exhaust drone. I also added soft foam (carpet pad) in the headliner frames. Believe me this stuff works great.

I have an 09GT with 14500 miles. Somewhere around 10 - 14 days ago (I can't remember exactly) I noticed a rattle coming from somewhere around the Drivers Side rear tire area. To give you an idea of the sound its almost like plastic rubbing against metal and metal vibrating on metal. Its hard to explain. Its not a constant vibration but is heard while accelerating heavily, cruising on the highways around 2000 rpms, or going over a bumpy surface. Before you say maybe it was the outside temps I live in the Atlanta area and when this started it was in the mid 60's.
Anyone have some experience with this or ideas where I can start looking? Its late now but I will be out tomorrow to see if I can find something.
