Default "T" handle for shifter

I want to put the retro Hurst "T" handle shifter **** on my stock GT shifter(Saleen short throw). Jegs has them but I am unsure about the thread size. yes, I know go measure them, but I was here so I figured I would ask. I got the idea from someone in this forum a while back,I know that I have seen it in here somewhere, but I can't find it. Can anyone help or point me in the direction? I guess while I wait for a response I will see if I can get my lazy a-- out of this chair and go check the threads, but I doubt it I am just taking it easy and playing the lazy roll today[8D]

Thread size for our cars is 12x1.25 they don't have one with the correct thread. Do what I did buy one with smaller threads, drill out the hole and tap it.

Edit: I was thinking of my application because I needed a built-in switch.

Hurst makes a universal T shifter handle that uses a set of provided treaded inserts. It fits and looks great. I bought minie at AutoZone for about $19.

I bought one with a built-in switch and they don't make a universal one like that with a switch.

I bought a new/old polished Hurst T handle off ebay. Then I bought a used Hurst stick off ebay to go with it. The stick was a bit long, so I cut it off and redrilled the holes to fit my Tri-Ax. I find that the slimmer stick fits between my fingers easier. And it looks killer, too! But if you are using the stock shifter, yer screwed 'cause you cant change the stick.[&o]
