Default RE: Glassback Pricing??

We had a Saleen with it at one of our dealerships a few weeks ago, it was red and I have a few pics of it... The production version is flush with the front and rear glass and has no trim so it looks very clean... The finish inside looks very nice, looks factory... I think it was Saleen that said the glass is more rigid than the roof it replaces and makes for a more rigid structure, the weight increase is not that much, they say about as much as a sun roof... You are getting rid of the sheet metal and all of the insulation and replacing with a sheet of glass...

I don't think I would do it for the price but it does look very nice in person...

Hey cortc, any idea how that would effect the heating/cooling of the car? I figure it would make it hotter during the day but will it be as equally bad at night with the cold? Can we see some of those pics you got? One of the main reasons I didnt like this one was because the pictures I saw before, the roof glass wasnt anywhere near flush with the windsheild and rear window.

I read somewhere there are several dealers and aftermarket companies that will install it for around $2500. Too bad its not a T-top or a Targa top, I might be interested if it could be removed.

Yes, each to his own. It just depends on whether you are into "Show" or "Go."

Enjoy it.

I bought my 2006 GT with a Glassback roof. The invoice said it costs $2995......but I got it for free to close the deal. I personally would not pay $3K to have one.....but I can tell you it makes a huge difference inside the car. My brother bought a 2006 Roush Stage 1 on the same day I got my 2006 GT and his feels very 'closed-in" compared to mine. I wanted to take some pics this weekend and post them into the new members area.....but we had really crappy weather. I will take some pics and post them this week.

As far as the added weight.......I raced my brother's Roush and it was dead even. I guess the Roush body kit adds equal weight to the car as the glass roof.
