Default K Member Brace for '06 GT

I heard that installing a K memeber brace on my '06 GT would help with the transmission/drivetrain flexing that makes shifting problematic under load.

I found this one on-line. Does anyone have any comments on this type of brace and this brand (CHE) in particular? Some of the other brands either involved drilling or welding, and I was hoping to avoid any heavy tool use. I only drive the car on the street and usually not too hard :-)

Thanks,

I love mine. It solved my 2-3 shift problem and it is a VERY easy install. No drilling no welding, just a bolt on and go deal.

HERE is the post where I installed mine.

On another note; if you order one PM 1QuickShortBus 1st. He might be able to hook you up with a sweet deal.

You beat me! That's not fair as I had to find the post. So no more missed shifts yet?

I BEAT YA!!!! [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

Fingers like lightning!!!!

LOL now you beat me!!!!

I have had no binding at all after the install. No missed shifts. The only negative is my shaker hood doesnt shake [:@]

This isnt going to make the shifter smooth it will just cure the binding that occurs under full throttle. So while I love mine dont expect it cure everything. This will just make the WOT shifts feel just like the low throttle shifts.

It never occured to me why they call it a shaker hood until this post. So could you really see a difference in the engine torquing? That would be cool to see the scoop shaking when you stomp on it.

Well I had the toque limiters before the shaker so I dont have anything to compare it to but my shaker doesnt move much at all. Even under WOT I can only see it move if I am stairing right at it. Even then it is only a little bit. The torque limiters are definatly doing thier job.

The original shakers would shake like crazy at idle due to the agressive cam of the older cars.

try setting a low/unstable idle with your tuner.[sm=icon_rock.gif] I reset mine back to 750 after my CAI install, but I was afraid to set it lower even if it was just to see what it did. I'm sure it'd set a code.
