Should I flash back to stock before my 5K service?

From what I've read and how I understand it, you should flash back to stock if you're going to the dealership for your 5k checkup. If you're going to Midas or elsewhere, I don't think it will matter.

I just did my 5k mile check up and all they did was check the fluids and change the oil. I don't have another tune, but I didn't see them mess with the computer at all. If anything I would retune your car back to stock just in case. They'll probably give you some grief about it, I mean it wouldn't harm you to do it anyway so I think you should do it anyway.

I just went in for my 5k miles last week and they didnt say anything about my CAI, exhaust, tune or chin spoiler... and they had to drive it around to the back so they definately know its not stock. They still did all the fluid changes, and checked the brakes, and the rest of their routine, whatever it may be.

Always return to stock configuration just to avoid any possible conflicts. If the dealer wants to bother you a tad he can about it, you have the law on your side but is it really worth discussing it all with the dealer for a thing that takes 2 min to remove? The dealer could charge a 150$ reprogram fee if he finds something wrong in the engine.

Actually, I got a buddy that works at the ford service center in my town. He said that if a computer tuner is found in the vehicle, law doesn't matter. It will automaticly void the warrenty. I mean come on, we are basicly telling the ford engineers they're stupid and we can do better. That being said, if we **** the car up, we gotta fix it. But he did say that Diablosport was the best because it is not detectable when the car is returned to stock. He could sit down and watch you tune the car yourself, but if he can't tell it when he does repairs, warrenty has to fix it. So take the tune out before you go in, always better to be safe then sorry.
