Default Question about hood scoop

New guy here, been lurking for a while. I have a 67 Mustang convertible that I restored and a 65 Shelby AC Cobra replica that I built. I'm thinking seriously about adding an 07 Mustang GT convertible to the stable and have noticed that not many of you have a hood scoop. I know its not functional. but don't you think it adds to the appearance? Interested in comments

Thanks,
Al.

I have yet to see the new 07 scoop on a car in person, but the Roush one looks really good IMO.

I picked up my 07 GT in early Aug. It had the appearance package that included the hood scoop. It draws a lot of attention. The first thing people look for are the fog lamps to make sure that it's not a Shelby. I think it looks pretty good. It is different than the Roush scoop. It may actually sit more forward than the Roush. If I can get a picture posted in the next couple of days I will.

I personally don't like the look of the new Hood scoop. It reminds me of the ugliest car in the world (WRX), if you want a hoodscoop that looks awesome, go with the functional Shaker hood scoop.

While it looks marginally better on the coupe, IMHO, the overall appearance (especially being fake) is just....tacky.

Of course, given that the GT Appearance Package lists at $245 and includes the plenum cover (a $67 part) and chrome tips (a $125 stand alone option), the leftover $53 couldn't buy much.

I wanted the hood scoop, but not the '07 stock. Saw one and was not interested. However, I did mount the roush and I love it...check out a few shots I posted on my gallery.

When I bougt my 06, i spent a few days testing the 07's. I dd not like the factory scoop it just seemed cheap, every one I drove, 5 in all, looked like a last minut add-on. there were gaps under the edges, visible from the drivers seat and all. If I were to go with a scoop, I would go aftermarket. They all seem to be better quality.
