Default I made a dent in something underneath my car...

Last weekend I used my fathers jack to lift the car a little bit to install my clear corners. I put the jack on a black bar that is right behind the front tires (both sides). It looks like a crooked L...I think. Does anyone know what part that is? Is that little dent going to effect anything...or am I obsessing again. Thanks!!!

im gonna go ahead and say dont worry about it - if you wanna avoid this from happening again put a 2x4 between the jack and the jack point AND MAKE SURE YOU USE THE JACK POINT!

Whenever you jack a car by placing a jack at any place other than a jack point, you run the risk of damaging it.

that bar was probably what's called the K member or subframe for your car. Use either Jack points or the control arms for the front and jack point for the rear..

I know the rear jacking point is along the side skirts. I believe their is a notch in the fram where the jack goes, somewhere under where the side skirts are (toward the rear wheel). Hope this helps!

Not a great photo, but unless someone else tells me otherwise, this is the jack point for the front driver side.
