ok i know the 05+ is a 4.6 but, my buddy was on the Prius messageboards, and someone was bragging about how they beat a 5.0L mustang....a....toyota prius.i just thought it was funny

Anyway - - THAT is a Prius website - - of course they are going to brag on their Prius - it is the only thing they know!
Heck - - now and then some pleeb comes in here bragging about racing a BMW M3 with this stock fox body and blowing it's doors off!

I think they are trying to cyber-compensate for certian shortcomings... There is no way a Micro-Hybrid, basically the new Metro, can even think about beating a mustang, even the Ill Fated Pinto-II's. never happen.

I plan on taking the prius to the track soon to see what it'll do in the 1/4. I've been reading up on how to launch it. This is what I've came up with as the best way to drag race a prius based on only what i've read:
- Charge the battery to full by holding the gas and brake all the way down till the engine shuts off.
- Launch the car in "B" mode because it will pre-load the engine to "launch"
- Of course try to have as little fuel as possible
I think I should be able to hit somewhere in the mid 17 second range. (hopefully) which is actually not bad.
